I was severely injured in an accident and have massive nerve damage to my lower inside leg. My doctor gave me a prescription to wear shorts AT WORK year round to help combat the pain due to pressure from wearing long pants. I have had the prescription for quite a few years now and have never had a problem untill now.
Very good question! Employers can usually do whatever they want, including setting whatever dress code they wish. However, this could fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act and if you cannot do your job with long pants on and you can do your job perfectly with shorts, I don’t know if he can refuse to let you wear them, especially if you have a dr’s excuse. Are they talking about firing you? This is what really ticks me off, you are trying to work and be a productive member of society. If no one will let you work because of your disability, then you will end up having to get on social security disability. People gripe because there’s too many disabled people but people like you want to work and have to fight to do it. Keep fighting! You have every right to work and if the pants cause too much pressure on your sensitive nerves, wear shorts. As long as you still look nice and professional, I don’t see what the big deal is.
My friend got a direct commission into the Army Reserves as a Medical Officer. We never been in the military before and so we are completely lost and hardly know anything about the correct wear and appearance for the ACUs. Does anybody know any good links to sites for proper ACU wear for Army medical Officers?? No one is being too helpful to us and this month is his first drill. He needs to report in ACUs. Basically, all I want to know is, what type of patches and badges are required for the ACU coat?? We got all the trousers, berets, and boots stuff down. Please help. Any help is greatly appreciated! Doesn’t matter that he’s a medical officer. You wear Army tape over the heart side, name over the other. Flag on the right pocket flap so blue field is facing front. Unit patch on the lower part of the left pocket. Rank tab on the center of the chest. That’s all you have to worry about.
And, being this is his first drill I don’t think they’re going to be too worried. They’ll square him away.
my dress code is usually loose knitted sweater with cargo pants or just plain pants .occasionaly i wear a shirt or a blazer over a shirt.

Sorry my poor english, i am Italian now living in Ireland. I have started to learn horse riding. My riding teacher told me to wear jeans when i ride she says jeans are comfortable. So I wear tight levis. they are only jeans i have. The next lesson one other learner told me not to wear them he said wear baggy combat trousers. He said they are better for horse riding. I then say my teacher which is best? she then said my tight fitting jeans are better. I feel comfortable in my levis aswell. Should I change and wear combats next time I go riding?
