I am 6′ 8 1/2",i have crazy long curly ’sasquatch’ hair, i wear a biker vest, camo pants, and combat boots. When i go onto a flight will i be searched?
Also i am about 350lbs (not fat, i am muscular, just for the record)

Nah, just make sure the grip of the 44 MAGNUM is sticking out the top of your jeans. You’ll be alright.

Current GI Trousers – Best quality type/brand from which army?

Posted by admin on May 31st, 2010 and filed under army trousers | 1 Comment »

Hi,
Just asking this on behalf of someone. He’s interested in purchasing GI dress trousers for work use.

Is there a general consensus on the ones which make the best quality for tropical weather or which countries army in particular has it and any other considerations?

As he wants to buy a couple of new pairs, I guess we are looking at USGI and British Army issue as these are the easiest to find online.

It’s not those combat fatigue kinds with the camo print but the normal plain dress trousers.

I was under the opinion that 1 company makes the same pair for the whole army but we see other than the ones which just say current GI issues and there are also other brands like 24/7 and rip-stop plus a few others which are ALSO GI.

There seems to be many brands out there. I’m getting confused.

Can you guys help out and give your opinion? Been on the net now for a few hours and getting more and more confused. Also, anyone know of any cheap websites which will deliver internationally?

oh, and if you have a certain kind of pants to recommend, please also let us know which belt is the most appropriate one which matches it. (too many belts to choose from too)

Thanks so much, and have a great day.
:)

p/s: i know this is more of a fashion thing, but i think military is better cause hopefully some real soldiers with experience are reading this section

Ashley MacIsaac at the Fredericton Playhouse

Posted by admin on May 31st, 2010 and filed under combat pants | 1 Comment »

presented by The Fredericton Playhouse Spotlight Series
Saturday, January 30, 2010

When Ashley MacIsaac burst on the worldwide scene with 1995s Hi, How Are You Today?, he scored the kind of coup instrumental artists often dream of. Going triple-platinum in Canada and breaking down radio barriers with the Gaelic single Sleepy Maggie, Ashley became an immediate pop icon — rebellious and exuberant, resplendent in kilts, army boots and combat pants. Copping from rockers sensibilities, Ashley made an aesthetic of it onstage, effortlessly blending his Celtic heritage with contemporary elements such as punk, electronica, hip-hop and grunge. On this tour though, Ashley delves back to his Cape Breton roots, bringing to the stage an impressive array of traditional East Coast fiddle tunes performed with a virtuosity not seen or heard from any other artist.

Field eXpedients: BfR Blast-Resistant Combat Boots 1

Posted by admin on May 28th, 2010 and filed under combat pants | 4 Comments »

Maybe instead of buying that CD player, the PROFESSIONAL Soldier would be better off spending $288 and buying a pair of BfR blast-resistant TAN desert combat boots to save his feet and lower legs from enemy high explosive effects?

Note that Wellco offers blast-protective over shoes that could also be worn on top of their own or the BfR blast protective boots to increase protection. Certainly Soldiers walking on point should be wearing both the boots, overboots and lower leg ballistic pants or TACARM’s ballistic ACU inserts
